Terms & Conditions

A LEGAL DISCLAIMER

Welcome to NUNU Fund. By accessing or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. NUNU Fund provides financial support and educational assistance to small-scale farmers and their families, ensuring access to education through a unique system that integrates agriculture and financial empowerment.

TERMS & CONDITIONS - THE BASICS

2. Eligibility
To participate in the NUNU Fund programs, beneficiaries must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a small-scale farmer residing in Uganda.

  • Must have at least one child enrolled in primary or secondary school.

  • Must engage in agricultural activities and be willing to sell produce through NUNU Fund's SeedBank for Education program.

By participating, beneficiaries agree to the terms of this agreement and acknowledge their eligibility as per the above criteria.
3. SeedBank for Education
The SeedBank for Education program involves the direct purchase of agricultural produce from participating farmers at a fair and competitive price. This initiative supports the education of the farmer's children by bulk-paying school fees with the purchased produce.

  • Fair Pricing: Farmers will receive double the price offered by middlemen for their produce. NUNU Fund commits to purchasing staples such as maize and beans.

  • School Fees Payment: Produce sold to NUNU Fund will be used directly to pay school fees for the farmer’s children at the partnered schools. The schools will, in turn, use the produce to feed the children.

  • Profit Distribution: When excess produce is sold by NUNU Fund, 50% of the profit will be shared back with the farmer's household.

4. Payback and Saving System
NUNU Fund operates a community shop system for farmers to purchase basic needs with a built-in savings mechanism:

  • Payback Mechanism: Farmers who purchase from the NUNU Fund community shops receive a 20% payback on their purchases, which will be automatically transferred to a dedicated savings account.

  • Savings Account: Funds saved through the payback system will accrue interest and are reserved solely for paying school fees or covering medical emergencies. These savings cannot be withdrawn for other purposes.

5. Commitment to Education
By participating in NUNU Fund’s programs, farmers commit to using their produce and savings to support the education of their children. NUNU Fund expects full cooperation from the farmers in ensuring that the funds and benefits received through the program are directed toward education and not misused for non-educational purposes.
6. Collaboration with Schools
NUNU Fund works in collaboration with partnered schools to ensure the seamless implementation of the SeedBank for Education program. The schools are responsible for:

  • Accepting produce as a form of school fees payment.

  • Using the produce to feed the students.

  • Reporting back to NUNU Fund on the academic progress of the children supported through the initiative.

7. Community Shop Operations
Farmers can access basic goods from NUNU Fund's community shops at fair prices. The 20% payback is an incentive to encourage long-term savings for school fees or medical emergencies.

  • Prices: Goods are priced to ensure that families in extreme poverty can afford basic needs without resorting to buying in small, uneconomical quantities.

  • Payback Limitations: The payback of 20% is limited to purchases made from NUNU Fund’s community shops and cannot be transferred to other vendors or used for non-designated purposes.

8. Financial Resilience and Empowerment
NUNU Fund's model is designed to increase household incomes, improve educational access, and strengthen financial security among participating families. The program is focused on breaking the cycle of poverty through financial empowerment and educational investment.
9. Responsibility and Accountability
Farmers and their households are expected to participate in the program with integrity, ensuring that all produce sold to NUNU Fund is genuine and of fair quality. Misrepresentation of produce or misuse of funds may result in suspension or termination of participation in NUNU Fund programs.
10. Termination of Participation
NUNU Fund reserves the right to terminate a farmer’s participation in the program for any violation of these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Misuse of funds designated for education or medical emergencies.

  • Failure to deliver promised produce.

  • Misrepresentation of the quality or quantity of agricultural products.

11. Data Protection and Privacy
NUNU Fund is committed to protecting the personal and financial data of all participants. Any information shared with NUNU Fund will be kept confidential and used solely for the purposes of implementing the SeedBank for Education and Payback and Saving System programs.
12. Modifications to the Terms
NUNU Fund reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants through appropriate channels. Continued participation in the program after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising from the participation in NUNU Fund programs will be resolved in accordance with Ugandan law.
